about us
Architectural Technology (UK) Ltd. was incorporated in 2005 and since then we have continued to provide a high quality design and technical consultancy service to our many Clients. Our Clients range from homeowners requiring a domestic extension to corporate developers requiring new office accommodation.
Our success is driven by our determination and enthusiasm to deliver creative functional solutions to the highest standard on time and on budget. If we say we are going to do something, then we do it. There are no excuses. No broken promises.
Although a relatively new company the principal, Richard Maxton has over twenty years experience in both public and private sector environments and projects carried out to date range from modest house extensions to substantial office and commercial developments.
We take great care to accurately establish a definitive Client Brief at the outset, as any ambiguity may lead to disappointment or aims and objectives not being realised. We provide a single point of contact service however we network with a broad range of fellow professionals including Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Environmental Specialists, Quantity Surveyors, Planning Consultants, Planning Supervisors and 3D Computer Specialists to provide a full Building Design and Contract Consultancy.
The services we offer cover the full range of traditional Architectural Services and includes advising and assisting in all aspects of a build project including the viability, location, cost and any local Planning and Building Control requirements. We can provide a simple Planning and Building Warrant only package or we can provide a more comprehensive service which includes tender negotiation, site inspection, contractor co-ordination, administration through to building completion and handover. Every aspect of the service we provide is carried out by carefully listening to and enthusiastically responding to our Clients needs.
We can confidently assure our Clients, through our team of experienced professionals we have the necessary skills and procedures to achieve the Client project goals from inception through to completion.
Unlike many professionals we do not offer "sliding scale" percentage fee quotation. The negative aspect of such a fee proposal is if construction costs were to increase (through no fault of the Client) then the professional fee, by default also increases. This hardly seems fair to as there is no incentive for the design professional to reduce the build costs.
We clearly outline our fixed fee at the outset. This only changes if there are several Client changes throughout the design period. This is unlikely if all parties have agreed an accurate Client Brief at the outset. Furthermore, any possible increase in professional fees is always discussed and agreed in advance with the Client.
