Project Number 7: Mount Charles Crescent, Ayr

Budget: Approximately £350,000
Design Brief: The brief for this project was to explore the development potential of an existing dwelling which sat within a substantial plot on the corner of Greenfield Avenue/Mount Charles Crescent in Ayr.
The initial scheme indicated a substantial extension to the existing single storey dwelling. The video fly-through proved to be a very useful tool both for the Client and the local Planning Department.
While the scheme gained full Planning Consent it did not proceed to site.
Instead we developed another scheme with our Client. This saw the existing dwelling being demolished and a substantial one and a half storey dwelling being constructed. Instead of having the dwelling placed across the corner of the site, it was placed parallel with Greenfield Avenue to afford a greater site presence and larger rear gardens grounds.
This development gained full Planning Consent and Building Warrant Approval and is due to be completed in the autumn of 2008.
